About Casework

A small firm with one product, one buyer, and one bar.

Casework is a productized services firm. We sell one engagement — the AI Hiring Conformity Pack — to one kind of buyer: a Chief People Officer, General Counsel, or Chief Privacy Officer at a mid-market company using AI in hiring.

Founder

Michael Mitrakos

[Founder bio — two to four sentences covering relevant background in AI governance, employment law, or systems documentation work. Specific roles, not generic claims. The owner will edit.]

[Prior roles or credentials, if relevant. Specific firm names and dates. Do not include unverifiable claims.]

Advisors

[Advisors block — names and one-line affiliations of advisors who have agreed to be listed. Leave empty if there are none yet rather than padding with placeholders.]

Philosophy

Why a productized firm beats traditional advisory for this work.

The deliverable is the same. Don’t pay for the bespoke wrapper.

The conformity file for one hiring AI tool looks substantially the same across mid-market companies. The Annex IV requirements are fixed. The Article 27 framework is fixed. What varies is the system you operate, the evidence your vendor has produced, and the gaps in between. The variable work is discovery, not format.

Traditional advisory firms charge for the format because their cost structure requires it: partner-led, multi-month, billed by the hour. For one tool at a 600-person company, that is mispriced.

Specialization beats breadth in this domain.

Casework only does hiring AI conformity. We don’t do credit models. We don’t do healthcare AI. We don’t do enterprise AI risk programs. We do one engagement, run the same way every time.

The benefit accrues to the buyer: we don’t have to learn your industry before we can do useful work, and we have already encountered the awkward parts of each vendor’s documentation posture.

Sister property

HireAIScore is the directory. Casework is the firm.

The two properties share infrastructure but are operationally independent. Each exists because the other one cannot do its job credibly while also doing the other's.

HireAIScore

Evaluates AI hiring vendors.

Independent scoring of vendor compliance posture across the same regimes Casework engages on. Buyers use it before procurement, not after.

Casework

Engages with deployers.

Once a buyer has chosen their AI hiring tools, Casework produces the conformity documentation the deployer is on the hook to produce.

Disclosure

Conflicts of interest.

Operating two related properties creates predictable conflicts. The disclosure below is the standard we hold ourselves to. We expect to be held to it.

Firewall. Casework engagement leads do not contribute to HireAIScore scoring. HireAIScore editors do not modify scores based on findings from Casework engagements. The two operate from separate decision-making forums.

No vendor payments. Casework does not accept fees, kickbacks, sponsorships, or referral arrangements from AI hiring vendors. HireAIScore does not accept paid placement, paid scoring revisions, or sponsored content from vendors it covers.

Vendor introductions. Where a client introduces us to their vendor for evidence collection in the course of an engagement, we pay nothing and receive nothing for the introduction.

Named recommendations. Where we recommend a tool, technique, or external expert by name in a Casework deliverable, we disclose any relationship we have with that party — inside the deliverable itself, not in a separate document.

What we are not. Casework is a services firm, not a law firm. Our deliverables are not legal advice and do not create an attorney-client relationship. Clients seeking privileged work product should engage Casework through their outside counsel.
